PQL Launches Online Learning Resource for AAT Accounting Qualification
Professional Qualifications Ltd (PQL) is launching an online learning and study environment to assist in the delivery and management of the AAT Accounting Qualification.
This new service, aimed at colleges and employers who teach or sponsor students, contains teaching and study resources that initially cover the AAT Certificate in Accounting level of the Diploma pathway. PQL also plans to develop the content to cover the further Diploma pathway levels.
Key features include:
- An audio commentary for each section accompanied by the full written text and graphical examples, e.g. of documents being
discussed.
- Interactive questions for each section to reinforce learning – both multiple choice and practical exercises.
- The opportunity to move backwards and forwards through all the material and repeat tutorial and questions as many times as
required.
- An online forum and chat functionality to facilitate peer-to-peer learning and support.
- An e-mail support function to facilitate communication between students and tutors.
- A learning management system recording access by individual students so that students and tutors can monitor progress.
The flexible nature and high-quality resources deliver a valuable new online dimension to delivering the AAT Certificate in Accounting.
Centres using this service can benefit from not having to make an investment in their own learning management systems, additional technology and infrastructure, or not having to employ extra specialist teaching or technical staff.
Centres can use the PQL system as a learning support tool alongside their traditional delivery of the qualification to students within the actual centre.
There is also a significant opportunity for centres to use the system to offer the AAT qualification by open or distance learning, allowing students to study at a time and place that is convenient to them and fits around their lifestyles.
PQL is hosting a series of free seminars around the UK to discuss how to implement an online teaching and learning resource for the AAT qualification and to demonstrate their new online college. The series starts in London in January 2007.
If you would like to find out more or are interested in attending one of the forthcoming seminars (dates to be announced), please contact Graham Divers at PQL at e-mail: graham.divers@pql.org.uk or tel: 0777 6256 775.
